28th October
Halloween trip to Alnwick Gardens! A (nameless) child told Mummy that “you don’t get very wet standing still under the fountain”. That child lied! Thankfully we visit the water fountains last. Journey home in Daddy’s coat!
27th October
As the weather was awful, today was all about decorating the house for Halloween and crafting!

26th October
The benefit of an early riser and a room with an amazing view is that you get to see the sunrise! Eagles eyed people will see Warkworth Castle in the bottom right of the second picture, and also Coquet Island to the left of the castle.
24th October
A super long walk along the beach from Warkworth to Alnmouth and back. Jumping, wading, climbing, collecting sea glass and exploring. Oliver and Daddy went to the park! All of this on less than 3 hours sleep because Oliver woke up at 2am.
23rd October
The look of pure excitement when we tell the children that we’ve booked a very last minute weekend away. We had 60 minutes to pack bags, collapse a bed and pack the car before end of school!

12th October
New blind day! We’ve put up with a blind that was too short for too long so this is so much better.

We’ve not visited a park for a while, they’re just too busy. We found a quiet one this afternoon!

10th October
Jessica was quite prescriptive about her celebration day. She wanted a porridge with strawberries, bath with candles and then a spa day (with various other things occurring during the day). What she didn’t know was that we had arranged a surprise bouncy castle and afternoon tea for her. Look at her face jumping off the settee when she sees the bouncy castle! It was worth every penny to see their faces. Brilliant day despite the rain at the very end!
8th October
Jessica is 9! She’s had a fab day, despite not seeing friends and family the way she had planned. Her favourite present was the skateboard which she’d asked for!
7th October
Today was all about the cake. Jessica was very descriptive about her requirements this year; rainbow sides, marble top and Be Happy written in a cloud (her favourite song)!
6th October
Twister before school! Just as well it’s a PE day for Jessica, she’s appropriately dressed!

Oliver was Star Of the Week! He earned it because of his amazing handwriting. Very proud of him!

Homework tonight was to find 10 things beginning with ‘s’. Unfortunately this was the only photo taken today!
27th September
When you go into the girls’ bedroom at bedtime and discover a pile of blankets on the floor, then discover that Jessica is within that pile!
26th September
We’ve never been inside of Backworth Hall before, until tonight! Yoga, and it was amazing!
